Job Description:

Germanna Community College invites applications for a manager of Academic Computing Centers and Testing Services. This position provides leadership over academic computing centers and testing services. Responsible for day to day college-wide operations of the Academic Computing Center and the testing center. This includes implementing benchmark systems, strategies, and technologies to operate centers efficiently; scheduling staff to provide coverage, and assisting students with testing and computer applications.

The position provides support for college-wide uses of Academic Computing Centers and Testing services. The manager is a college-wide position and reports directly to the Dean of Academic Technology and Learning  Support.

Salary: The college offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package, Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in computer-related or management discipline or equivalent  

Requires a solid understanding of academic support in teaching and learning

Two years experience of working in computer labs and/or testing services

Management, supervision, and scheduling experience

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Ability to quickly learn new technologies and software, at times without formal training

Ability to troubleshoot computer and network connectivity issues

Ability to prioritize and assign work; keep accurate records and prepare detailed reports

Ability to work on multiple tasks and projects

Ability to manage and analyze the related data for reports and research

Ability to communicate effectively with people at varying levels of computer literacy, including students, technical staff and application vendors

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

Work various hours including evenings and weekends as needed

Ability to travel to different campuses and sites as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

Pearson VUE  Administration Certification  or obtain the certification within 6 months in the position.
