Job Description:

The Institutional Research Analyst assists the Director of Organizational Planning & Assessment with the collection, management, analysis and reporting of institutional data. He/she will utilize databases necessary to the IR function as they relate to reporting of retention, academic assessment, enrollment management, external relations, and planning activities. He/she will assist with data collection, analysis and reporting related to overall institutional effectiveness, respond to ad hoc research requests and contribute to the further development and maintenance of the GCC Fact Book and web site. Additionally, he/she will serve as primary day-to-day manager for the college's WEAVE Online system. Other responsibilities include: assisting in the preparation of standard federal and state reports (IPEDS, VCCS, SCHEV, etc.), fulfilling data requirements for grant proposals, developing and analyzing surveys, and supporting other projects and studies undertaken by the office as assigned. 

12-month classified position. Salary Range up to $45,000 DOE plus State Benefits (State policy pay practices apply for current employees)

Requirements:

Qualifications Required:

  • Candidate must possess any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in mathematics/statistics, economics, or social sciences.

  • Excellent oral/written communication skills, data analysis background and working knowledge of essential social research and planning methodologies

  • 1-3 years previous social and or education research experience

  • Direct experience with data extraction educational research models, statistical software packages, survey construction and institutional planning.

  • Proficiency with MS Office programs including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree with an emphasis in mathematics/statistics, economics, or social sciences
  • Specialized training in institutional research and planning
  • Experience/knowledge of WEAVE Online planning/assessment software
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft
  • Knowledge of SPSS or SAS Enterprise Guide
  • Three (3) years institutional research/planning experience in a community college or other higher education environment
