Job Description:
Germanna Community College is seeking a full-time Nursing faculty member to teach in the practical nursing certificate program and to collaborate with full-time and part-time nursing faculty in the delivery of curricula and laboratory/clinical instruction. This position will be dedicated primarily to Germanna's newly established licensed practical nursing program located at Eastern View High School in Culpeper, Virginia. The selected candidate will lead and coordinate the newly established program, working with the administration of Culpeper County Public Schools and Eastern View High School as well as the administration and staff of Culpeper Regional Hospital. The ideal candidate will understand and identify with the Germanna nursing programs' philosophy of nursing and nursing education, perform all faculty responsibilities as assigned on days/evenings/or weekends, collaborate with nursing staff in the clinical facilities to identify student assignments, supervise and mentor students in the laboratory/clinical settings, and evaluate and document student progress according to stated learning objectives. This is a 10-month position with an anticipated starting date of September 24, 2009 Salary: Minimum $44,000 DOE, plus State Benefits Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until position is filled
Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Science in Nursing, current Virginia Registered Nurse licensure, and at least two years of current clinical experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree in Nursing; experience teaching nursing in classroom, laboratory/clinical settings, and distance learning in institutions of higher learning preferred.
